Based on a collection belonging to the San Miguel de Azapa Archeological Museum of Arica, this exhibit explored the cultural development of the pre-Hispanic peoples of the Lluta and Azapa valleys. The display of clothing items, headdresses, bags and other textile artifacts from different periods had been preserved by the exceptionally dry conditions found in this part of the country. Accompanying the display was a specially made series of drawings that showed individuals from different periods of Arica’s pre-Columbian history.
