This exhibit was mounted with the collaboration of more than a dozen museums across the country and highlighted important milestones in Chilean prehistory. The display spanned the time between the arrival of the region’s first inhabitants twelve thousand years ago, the expansion of the Inka Empire, and the disappearance of the last hunter gatherer groups from the far south. The exhibit divided entire the territory of what is now Chile into six regions: the Far North, the Near North, Central Chile, the Araucanía region, the Far South, and Easter Island.
