Flauta globular
This ceramic globular flute is an artifact of the Ciénaga culture, which inhabited what is now northwestern Argentina between the years 300 and 600 CE.
The flute was crafted in the form of a feline, using the technique of modeling with incisions and applied adornments. It may be blown through the largest hole, located on top of the figure’s head, using the other hole to change the note through fingering. This instrument can produce sounds with the pitches of A# and D#.
Dimensions: 590 mm high x 820 mm long x 650 mm wide (approx 23” x 32” x 26”).
