Male and Female in Ecuador’s Ancestral Cultures – 2004

This exhibit was organized by the Museum of the Banco Central del Ecuador and consisted of more than two hundred pieces, including some of the Bank’s most valuable artifacts that had never before been shown outside of the country. Designed around the theme of sexual and gender roles, the display offered a complete panorama of pre-Columbian arts from Ecuador, from early Valdivia pottery to the time of the Spanish conquest, allowing visitors to appreciate its extraordinary beauty and value.
