Moche: Lords of Death – 1990

This exhibit explored the links between death, art and political power among the ruling classes of Moche society, an ancient nation that inhabited the northern coast of what is now Peru. The exhibit was mounted with the support of Peru’s Instituto Nacional de Cultura, the Museo Nacional de Antropología and the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, and included a collection of objects related to death and rich in iconography.
