Presentation

This exhibit, organized in collaboration with the Colombian Gold Museum, explored the cosmological world of Columbian Amerindian societies of the past and present. With this focus the exhibit examined central concepts of American indigenous thinking through themes such as humanized nature, the individual in indigenous society, shamanic transformation, plants of power, the song of creation, war and sacrifice, the destiny of souls, the colonial gaze and contemporary goldsmiths. The display offered a picture of a universe that integrated the sacred and profane, nature and culture, gold and copper, life and death.
