Calendars

Like most cultures, Ancient Andean societies had complex ideas of time and how it is organized in regard to life. These notions are embodied in their ceramics, textiles, quero cups, rock art and other material expressions. These objects depict the yearly cycle of activities such as carnivals, sowing time, harvest time, the time for marriages and the time when caravans depart for distant lands to exchange products.
