Is it misfortune, queen, that separates us?
Is it disgrace, princess, that separates us?
Is it because you are my little blue flower, my yellow flower?
As we can see in the excerpt of Andean poetry above, a verse or image is repeated while varying some key component minimally. This device is called ‘doblete’ and it can also be observed in the visual language of quero-cups and ceramic pieces.
