Identities in transformation

In Diaguita culture, individuals could transform their identity by changing their attire or bodily decorations, or in passing from life to death. The absence of polychromatic ceramic pieces that is characteristic of Diaguita culture was yet another way of expressing their identity. But the most symbolic aspect of these diverse identities was the transfiguration of some subjects into animals with the help of certain sounds and hallucinogenic substances.
