Diaguita ceramics exhibiting bird, feline and reptile faces

The Diaguita identified with certain animals that personify specific attributes. By reproducing their faces, probably the Diaguita took on the power of those animals, incorporating them into their daily lives and above all into their beliefs and rituals. Within the Diaguita ceramic universe, zoomorphic bowls were the most common.
