The costume as an archetype

This costume has played a very important role in the history of our Museum. Its extraordinary complexity and rich symbolism inspired our team and the other professionals involved to carry out a wide variety of investigations to enable them to reach their interpretations. These initiatives have led us to conduct the most complicated experiments in different areas of museum studies, setting precedents for the future treatment of other pieces.

The great amount of information accumulated regarding the costume is of great utility in unraveling its cultural and historical interpretation, as well as in providing for its care and contextualization. This rich experience permits us to exhibit the costume in the context of the results of the different investigations we have undertaken.
