Uncu tunic with felines: Big-eyed Being

The shape of this men’s uncu (tunic) is similar to that of a short poncho, except the sides are sewn together, with openings left for the arms. The embroidered motifs are similar to those on the turban-cloth and skirt in this collection and correspond to the Big-Eyed Being with a serpentine body covered in spikes, and a feline face. Much more simplified versions of the same figure appear around the neckline. Fringes of twisted yarn serve as sleeves and woven extensions elongate the garment.
